About

The Biological Safety Program provides guidance to faculty, students, and staff working with biological materials. The objective of the program is to assure laboratory personnel that, with proper precaution, equipment, and facilities, biohazardous materials can be handled without undue risk to themselves, their peers, their families, and the environment. Responsibility for maintaining related safety guidelines and coordinating the biological safety program is assigned to Research Safety.

SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 Toolbox

The need for information regarding SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 is critical for both daily life and conducting research. To help address this need, the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA) International has compiled resources that can benefit both individuals and research programs alike. If you are planning to conduct SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 research, please use the following resources when completing your Biological Registration in Lumen. If you have any additional questions, please contact Dr. Rob Foreman (robert.foreman@northwestern.edu).
